I am quite sad and also disappointed. My Corner Clipper gave up his ghost. That was a demise far to early for a tool that high priced. Id did serve its function and with excellent results while it lastet. But now the lever broke, the tool disintegrated and showed its inner workings.

Polders and Bunkers

View from the dike on Domburg / Walcheren

A short vacation on Walcheren island has brought me into contact with a countryside similar to the polder land we encounter in the ASLSK historical module Decision at Elst. This low-lying land is comparable to the area south of Arnhem that was fought over during the Market-Garden opertion in Sept 1944. When you travel between towns the first you get to know about the settlement ahead is its church. The towers are clearly visible from kilometres away and its easy to understand their importance as observation posts.

LoB: To Take Washington

Fully in flamed with the American Civil War or Second War of Indipendance as the Confederates referred to it, I have taken to approach  the topic from different angles. The GCACW Series is one of my favoreds as one can estimate from my recent posts on this blog.

A different level of detail brings me to the Line of Battle series published by MMP. I got hold of the latest title To Take Washington that covers Jubal Early’s advance on Washington in September 1864. As the GBACW: Road to Gettysburg II also contains Rebells in the White House I now can play the campaing as well as the Battle of Monocacy itself.
